Bianca Wirth brings more than expertise and experience to the position of CEO of ComputersOff.ORG. Her commitment to ‘green IT’ and her enthusiasm for educating government, business, academic and individual computer users about the principles of green IT, combined with her management and leadership skills provide a sound platform for her role. Her journey in IT began in 1998. She is now regarded as a leader in the IT industry on the topic of green IT. Her extensive knowledge and experience have enabled her to find innovative solutions, advise on infrastructure development and technology strategies, and develop and lead change management and organisation restructure. Bianca has held positions at Microsoft Australia and Gen-i Australia, a major Australian consulting company. Having grown up on a farm, awareness of environmental issues have always been part of her life, and in 2003 Bianca began a bachelor degree in Environmental Science (Management). Upon completion of her degree in 2008, she obtained Provisional Environmental Auditor Certification (ISO 19011). Her enthusiasm and advocacy for green IT are grounded in her scientific knowledge and experience, thus qualifying her as a sensible voice in the cacophony of opinion. So strongly does Bianca promote green IT that in 2007 she launched GreenITStrategy.com, the only dedicated information portal for green IT in Australia. As one of only a handful of such enterprises globally, the site provides accurate, objective and reliable information for organisations and individuals wanting to build and implement more environmentally friendly IT practices. An accomplished speaker and writer, Bianca communicates exceptionally well across a wide range of audiences: industry, business, academic and government leaders; national and international conferences; national industry and business publications. Her technical expertise and speaking ability have often resulted in her being approached by the media for balanced comment on environmental issues within the IT sector. The weaving together of Bianca’s expertise, management skills and vibrant personality heralds a heightened awareness of the importance of a greener IT future in Australia. |
